What is Urban Letterboxing?

Letterboxing originated in Dartmoor and is an old English passtime combining orienteering and treasure-hunting skills with craftsmanship and inventiveness. A letterbox is a weatherproof box containing a unique rubber stamp and a log bok, hidden somewhere interesting. Letterboxers excahnge clues to the location of these boxes then find and stamp the box's log book with their own personal stamp, and stamp their log book with the box's stamp. Traditionally, this is a nice countryside rambling activity. Now we're going to do it in the city.

What you need to go Urban Letterboxing

You don't need any computer equipment, GPS, bionic eyes or other high-tech stuff. Just make your personal stamp, make your letterbox, find somewhere interesting to hide it and enter it's location in the Urban Letterbox database. Obviously, be careful about where you put your box in the city, you probably don't want it control-exploded or to get banged up for terrorism. If you find a damaged box, or fail to find a missing one, please report it using the link next to it's clue.
